MY OWN HAPPINESS

Image
This is a post written by my Friend Tshewang Lhamo. Thank you for sharing with me and I just can’t stop posting it on my blog. Be happy always and I am happy that in your happiness and in your small world I share a part of me in it.                “Smile on my face, peace in my mind, good friends around me & lovely siblings. This is life, so I say! What can I ask more for, when I have everything I want, my own. I don’t say I am the happiest of all but I can say that I’m too much happy and contended in my own ways, in my own small world. Peacefully I sleep on my few inches of mattress until my alarm wakes me up. Eat till my belly says no and wear what I have, what suits me well and with what I am comfortable in. For now, I am in love with my World. I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth and now I don’t live a king’s life, but happiness is always within me and I would dare not to lose this anymore. Friendship

The greatest gift of life is friendship, and I have received it- Hubert H.Humphery As we walk through the journey of our life we encounter different people at different stages, and some become part of our life. Not everyone can fit into your circle and share your life. Friends are the person who never leaves you out, you are always included when you are with them or away from them… a friend is someone who is always there for you. I was taught to value friendship and I still do that. I do have bunch of some beautiful and trust worthy friends surrounding me, yet some where I lost some of my friends. Time passes by, people changes and so do the friends.  Yeah! At times it hurts to see your friends turning away from you but that’s life. I do have encountered some fair weathered friends; yet, nothing within me has changed my feelings for them. I still value them as I have shared some beautiful memories with them. Today as I look around myself; I am contented and happy with my ...

Friendship Day Special

The first Sunday of August is considered as a Friendship Day and this year it was on 3 rd August. Many beautiful quotes flowed on social websites like Facebook , Wechat and Twitter. I started receiving amazing text in my cell phone. The world celebrated the day with beautiful words for their friend and I didn't stay away anymore. I joined the people in wishing all my friends a Happy friendship Day. There is no better way to start my first post of August with this piece. I sincerely dedicate this piece to one of my friend. Who says opposite gender can’t make a good friend. Actually that was my notion during my schooling days. A decade ago, back in Haa I first met my friend. Who would dare to talk with him; he was then the most serious guy we have ever seen.  We weren't really a friend during our schooling days. I was too scared of him and I always made myself to stay away from him. I hate encountering him on my way. We could hardly see him with a...

Ruminating over one Crazy and scary moment back then…..

Spring was already in Punakha. Evening walk and weekend dinner was popular with us.  A close friend of ours (esp.Sonam & Mine), Tshering Dorji, we fondly call him “Gentle” had been hospitalized due to tuberculosis (TB). Every Saturday evening, we usually take our time off and go out for a dinner. That very day two of us had decided to visit our friend and then join our other three girls for the dinner. We prepared some dishes for our friend, bought some juice and snacks and then left Punakha.  He had been hospitalized at Punakha general hospital since a week ago. We greeted our friend and spent almost an hour there. Dusk has already started to spread over Punakha valley by the time we decided to leave. We waited for almost 15 min and couldn’t find a single empty cab passing by. Huh!!! What a bad Luck…a speeding car stopped in front of us. We got lift. I still remember us jumping into the car with an enemorous smile. Back at Mitsena our three friends had already reached t...

Sonam T Tshomo

The day which I usually say “Short Winter day” seemed so lengthy, the meal which I never escaped “Lunch” was sacrificed and a humble listener to everyone’s talk has finally turned “Deaf”… I  wasn't  me at all. I was feeling drained and lost after such a long time. Just then I realized that boredom arrested me .I can’t imagine a day without a friend . It was just yesterday that I bided farewell to my friend and yet today I felt it had been ages without seeing her. “Life is worthless and imperfect without friends”, someone rightly said. The whole day I was missing my friends. Somewhere along the journey of my life I encountered this friend who stood out to be my coolest buddy. A friend who never got bothered with my childlike act and talk, a friend who woke up at an odd hours to cook my favorite noodle, a friend to whom I never hesitate to speak out what I felt. Today she is out of my sight and I feel so empty and silent. Looking back I feel completely blessed to hav...

A Letter from My Friend

Receiving a letter from a friend when you have all means of communication is so much fun. It had been almost six years without receiving a single letter. I received a letter from my BBF Xoonam. We chat on Facebook every day, we talk on phone, we meet and spend times together, yet nothing can beat that excitement of receiving a letter and going through it. Thank you Xoonam for writing to me and indeed it had been the best surprise ever. “ It’s actually funny to receive such letter when you have all means of communication, but this is just to remind you of those good olden days. We never got a chance to post a letter to each other since back then we were unknown ”. She jotted. Yeah! It’s true we never had that chance. However, your today’s’ letter made me live my schooling days for a moment. The first letter I received after so long year was yours and you can’t imagine my excitement here. I re-read your letter several times and still I can’t take my eyes off from those beautiful wo...

The popular Kids…. Then!

“Sometimes it’s better to bunk a class with your friends and enjoy with them, because today when I look back, marks never make me laugh, but memories do”…… A.P.J Abdul  Kalam. I remember escaping my classes and attending the local rituals at our village. It all happened when I was a kid and studying in Jyenkhana. Come June, then most of us would not be seen during our afternoon classes. The annual ritual in our community usually starts from June.  I and my group won’t be seen in most of the afternoon class. We would bunk and directly go to the place where ritual is taking place. Ritual then was like our afternoon classes, Must attend!! The best part of attending ritual is eating, drinking changkay, talking, singing and most of all the dancing after drinking changkay.  We never bothered about our attendance. It was so much fun to escape the afternoon classes where most students fall asleep.  I could still vividly remember us eating our dinner on the way....

A Girl with a Purple Scarf

Image
“I was walking down a lonely street. Dusk has started to pull in. I could see flock of birds flying back to their nest. Everyone seemed to be settled in their cozy room. I walked, walked and walked till my vision captured a girl with a purple scarf. She wore a jeans and tee shirt. A beautiful purple scarf was wrapped on her neck.  I just wondered who could be that girl. She was humming a song….I walked towards her. We stared at each other’s face and then called out our names at our highest pitch…. “SONAM SONAM….PASSA PASSA…” the girl with purple scarf was none other than Sonam Xoonam. I opened my eye and found myself on my bed….  I just smiled and called her. It was a dream; I had a few years ago. I felt like I found my best buddy”…. Best friend Forever “Puencha”………. I fondly call her. I never had a thought of meeting her in my entire life. It just happened. After knowing this beautiful soul for more than five years I just feel I got the world’s best buddy. I r...

4 Angels behind my Childhood

Image
George Elior in his book The Miles on the Floss, he quoted that we would have never loved the earth so well if we have no childhood in it. Childhood is the best part of every person’s life. The memories of those days are treasured forever. It is the stage of life where we are innocent and young. The days are really unforgettable and cherish able. It is the part of a life where we meet our precious and best friends. My childhood days are the best part of my life. I can live the rest of my life by cherishing those memories. The mixture memories of love, laughter, etc… are always the best. Reflecting back to those days I still remember my gang with whom I had shared my top secrets. They are the best ones. Back then we were the prank-master of our school. The youthful and innocent days at Jyenkhana pry. School is still very vivid in my heart.  My childhood friends are sweet, bubbly and awesome. My entire childhood days revolve around those people. I was gifted w...

My Lost friend...

It was a fine Friday morning of 30 th   June 2000. We did our last paper for the midterm examination. All the students were very enthusiastic to leave for a short vacation. I was one among them who was keenly waiting for that break so that I could attend many functions in my village. I meet with my class mates and said goodbye, but I never knew that this adieu will be forever for one of my friend. Friends come and go but some make incredible memories which are very hard to erase out of our mind. I had a friend who was one of the best among many. He was very close to all of us and he was the brightest among us. We were really a good friend. I could still remember those days we spent at jyenkhana pry. School. The year 2000…when I was in fifth standard I lost one of my best friends. After we departed for our vacation, he stayed with his parents at school only. Since it was summer, it was time for fishing. The next day 1 st   July 2002…I saw him going for fishing to...
