Losar Greeting from eastern Bhutan

Its Losar time!!! It’s a family time!!! Today, the eve of new Bhutanese year, some are completely engaged in preparation, some are travelling to make it home and some are planning for a good game tomorrow, somehow this year, I chose to spent my Losar alone in the company of my books. I always had a good memory of celebrating Losar with my family and the new Bhutanese year is one festival very close to my heart. Holidays lined up, office looks empty and silent. I look around to see everyone in a holiday mood. I have already decided to spend the  week-long  vacation with my books. Indeed these holidays will turn out to be my reading week which I have always wanted. It would be unfair on my part if I say I don’t miss my family. Back home my families have already gathered for tomorrow and silently I miss everyone deeply and desperately. Never the less, the coming week sounds to be a perfect mini vacation for everyone. I sincerely wish everyone a happy, prosperous ...

The weeping Brother

Welcome 2015!! It took me almost a month to come up with my first post.   “Was it him that never wanted to see his dying siblings, or was it his heart that never had the courage to bid them farewell or was it the influence of other that made him to stay away from all his siblings”… he was a brother who never had the chance to face his sibling at all their good and bad times. Blood is thicker than the water, a universal saying which sometime proved wrong!!! In the recent time, I came across a person who lived the life of a lonesome despite having numerous siblings. A brother to six other siblings, he was the third eldest among them. Those were the days when they ate over a pot of rice and played in the same ground. Life  isn't  that easy to lead. Every new day takes its turn and land up with something new. More than three decades ago he became completely isolated from his own siblings. What is the use of living when you don’t have time to share you moments wit...

Flashback … as I rewind my 2014

I would have never loved 2014 if I didn’t fall in love with the year. The year has given me so much of everything. It had been a year of complete experiences and challenges. Today, the 31 st of December, the New Year eve, it gives me utmost joy, happiness, sadness, and many beautiful memories to cherish. As I walk into the brand new year, there are many special moments to be cherished which I never want to erase out of my mind. The first days of 2014 started with my festival Lomba. My last lomba celebration with my most loved uncle. Who would have ever thought that it would be my last Lomba with him, yes! For now I am contended as I didn’t miss to attend that day with my family. It was a bitter experience yet the demise taught me to be stronger and brave. For now I would say the year made me to be more accountable and stronger. There had been the times where I completely fell in love with every bit of 2014. Those moments which I wish to freeze it forever. The immense support fro...

MY OWN HAPPINESS

Image
This is a post written by my Friend Tshewang Lhamo. Thank you for sharing with me and I just can’t stop posting it on my blog. Be happy always and I am happy that in your happiness and in your small world I share a part of me in it.                “Smile on my face, peace in my mind, good friends around me & lovely siblings. This is life, so I say! What can I ask more for, when I have everything I want, my own. I don’t say I am the happiest of all but I can say that I’m too much happy and contended in my own ways, in my own small world. Peacefully I sleep on my few inches of mattress until my alarm wakes me up. Eat till my belly says no and wear what I have, what suits me well and with what I am comfortable in. For now, I am in love with my World. I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth and now I don’t live a king’s life, but happiness is always within me and I would dare not to lose this anymore. M...

Thank You Holland; Forever in My Heart :) :)

It was 12:05 pm (Thai standard time) 13 th of September 2014 when I travelled to the Netherlands from Bangkok. It was no fun being on a flight for 11 hours esp. when you are alone. The evening of that day I reached Schiphol International airport, Holland. The sun was brightly up in the sky and the beautiful plain stretch unceasing in front of me. Here at Holland I was lodged at one of the most beautiful location in the entire Holland; the Scheveningen Haven in the Hauge. The beautiful North Sea lies just in front of our apartment. Yes! Every day here had been a good surprise for me. I never missed a chance to visit the super crowded Amsterdam, the world’s second largest harbor; the Rotterdam and some other cities in Holland. Fairy tales only happen in dream or movies; but this time it wasn’t any more. I found myself standing under the gigantic Effile tower which was a dream come true. Visiting Paris was what I have always wanted to do in my life. It was fun exploring the histori...

Autumn in My Heart

Image
The touch of leaves falling over you, the feeling of chill breeze brushing against your cheeks, yeah! Finally the fall is here. Back home the Blessed Rainy Day is the indication of the last monsoon and the start of a new season. I was walking along the beach of Scheveningen here in the Hauge and watching the waves play with the sand. A group of granny playing on the beach distracted me and I was gazing them with a deep thought. They were living their youthful days. It just reminded me that age is just a numerical but inside, our heart never grows old. I went into the sea to feel the waves but then the peace environment took me into a thought. A thought of my late uncle came ringing in my mind. Today was his 49 th day and I still couldn’t believe that he is no longer with us.  I smiled through tears chewing over my days with my late uncle. The last autumn, I remember us together talking over a cup of tea. At the end it is just the memories that can live and will be valued for...
